Sew We Care

Spots Available: 8

Teacher: Barb

From Monday, November 30th, 12:00AM until Monday, November 30th, 12:00AM

Sew We Care has been part of Carellan Sewing for 9 years. In the past, we have had ladies get together to sew for others whenever we received a request.

In the fall of 2006 the ladies decided to make it a monthly event. So on the last Monday of each month from 1 – 3 pm, the Sew We Care ladies meet at Carellan and sew for others. The sewing projects have benefited a wide variety of groups. We have sewn mitts for inner city schools, cosmetic bags for women’s shelter, ears for the Teddy’s Bear picnic. The size of the group can be as small as 4 or as large as 14. We have ladies who are the sewers, others do the cutting and Bernice always brings the cookies and Barb puts the coffee on. The ladies have clocked close to 1500 sewing hours in the last 6 years. We are always looking for new projects, so if you know of someone or some group needing our services please call the store. This is an open, drop in group. If you are free the last Monday of the month, please do drop by.
